This monograph offers a comprehensive analysis of the historical foundations, theoretical frameworks and contemporary practices of Chinese cultural expansion within the context of the “One Belt, One Road” initiative, placing particular emphasis on the concept of cultural resonance as a dynamic and relational mechanism of transnational interaction. It traces the evolution of Chinese cultural diffusion from the Han to the Qing dynasties, demonstrating how administrative reforms, educational systems, religious narratives and artistic production functioned as instruments of imperial cultural consolidation and external influence. The study further examines modern institutional tools of soft power, including Confucius Institutes, state-supported grant programmes, digital media platforms and creative industries, interpreting them as components of a strategically coordinated humanitarian policy. Through an interdisciplinary methodology that integrates cultural analysis, discourse studies and historical comparison, and by employing case studies from Central and Southeast Asia, the monograph evaluates patterns of reception, adaptation and reinterpretation of Chinese cultural elements, highlighting both the dialogical potential of intercultural engagement and the structural asymmetries inherent in contemporary global cultural exchange.
